Community-based Sustainable Rural Development
Our projects are designed to strengthen the long-term sustainability and resilience of local communities. We work hand in hand with them to identify their priorities and co-develop tailored solutions that support economic development, environmental conservation, and social well-being. Our goal is to harness the potential of biodiversity conservation as a driver for creating sustainable rural livelihoods and opportunities.
Emphasizing community participation and capacity building, we ensure ownership and sustainability. Collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including community leaders and government agencies, maximizes impact. By promoting community-led initiatives and sustainable practices, we aim to create thriving and resilient communities, safeguarding resources for future generations.
Key components of the program include:
- Organization of the Sustainable grazing transition
- Agroecology and Agroforestry in partnership with local famers, landholders and land users
- Natural resource management
- Transformation and valorization of invasive species
Ongoing projects:
- Botanical trail of endemic, native and naturalized species on Brava – the Island of Flowers
